These Four Girls
About the Project...
A project about self worth and employment choices for young women.
Aimed at years 7-13
A humorous, thought provoking tale of personal identity. Covering the issues of:
- Identifying personal strengths and talent
- Valuing personal strengths and talents,
- Recognising the talents and strengths of others,
- Having and fulfilling your dreams,
- Forging your own career or higher education path,
- Recognising the career and employment options open to you
- Higher Education leading to a professional career
- Qualifying in a “trade” profession,
- Realising that you don’t have to aspire to the ideal of the “Footballers Wife”
Many young people today are not fully aware of the many further/higher education and employment options available to them. This play will make young women more aware of the choices open to them.
Telling the story of four very different schools friends - a good looking “footballers wife wannabe”, a career girl, an aspiring home maker and a young woman determined to walk the less trodden path into a male dominated trade, our plot follows the girls from a pivotal chat outside the careers office in year eleven to their school’s ten year reunion. But who has achieved their dream and what did they have to do to achieve it?
