How it Works (Plays)

Plays...

This information is related to plays, click here for information relevant to our projects.

1.    Pick the play or project relevant to your desired learning outcomes.

2.    Call us for an informal chat to discuss dates and times target groups, etc.

3    We will email you a booking form and our terms and conditions.

4.    When you have returned the completed form to us via post or fax, we will confirm your booking and send an invoice for 50% of the total cost of the performance(s) as deposit to your finance department.

5.    On receipt of your deposit we will post you a copy of the educational materials and resources that support the performance(s) you have booked.

6.     You will receive a confirmation phone call from one of the operations team the day prior to your performance. You will also be given the name of your “Actor In Charge” and the name of your Facilitator for the performance.

7.    One of our teams of actors and facilitators will arrive at your school approximately forty-five minutes before the performance begins, to set up and prepare.

Our performers will be with your young people for one hour in total.

The hour is broken down into;

a.)    An introduction by our facilitator, which will last about five minutes.
b.)    The performance, which will last approximately thirty to forty minutes.
c.)    Approximately ten minutes for a question and answer session, when your pupils/young people can ask the characters about their motives, and perhaps, “what happened next”. Pupils/young people may also wish to ask the actors about their own personal experiences relevant to the performance.
d.)    Pupils/young people complete a simple evaluation questionnaire, the information from which will be collated by our data analyst into a bespoke report.  Many schools have presented our reports to Ofsted as evidence of a measurable outcome.
e.)    The completed questionnaires will be collected, and our facilitator will briefly consolidate what has been learned during the workshop.

8.    We will send an invoice for the outstanding amount to your finance department

9.    We are sure you will be delighted with our services and look forward to working with you again!

What people say...

"What we can spend all year telling our pupils with very little or no effect, Open the Door can convey in half an hour"
